Ohm Recording is a boutique studio in Dallas, TX, owned and operated by Justin Howley who has over 25 years of experience performing, engineering, and producing.

Ohm Recording is the perfect fit for singer songwriters, but equally can support recording live full bands. We offer a large selection of instruments and gear, including Martin, Gibson, and Fender guitars and amps, Ludwig and Gretsch drums as well as industry‑standard microphones and premium analog tube and processing gear, giving your project the highest level of quality, character, and vibe.

Services & Rates

Producing & Songwriting: We’ll help shape your song from start to finish—offering writing, arranging, instrumentation, and creative direction to turn your idea into a fully realized, release‑ready production.
Recording & Mixing: From solo artsts to full bands, we maximize your recording time with efficient, proven workflows and make sure your project translates sonically within your genre. Our extensive gear collection supports any style, and we can provide session musicians when needed. We use a hybrid mixing approach—combining analog hardware with modern digital plug‑ins—to deliver the best vibe, depth, and final result.
Digital Distribution Consultation: Whether you’re new or experienced, we’ll help you choose the right digital distribution platform and recommend strategies to make sure your music reaches the right audience. This guidance is included at no extra cost when you work with us.
Rates: Session Recording*: $75 hour or $500 for an 8 hour block
Mixing: $250 per song with two revisions
One Song $500 fully produced song, including tracking, mixing & mastering with two mix revisions
Analog/Tape Processing: $50 per stereo stem mix, $100 for multi-track files

*Includes access to all instruments, amps and gear

Remote Recording & Mixing: Remote collaboration and recording are now standard, giving you access to a wide range of gear and instruments without the cost of buying or renting. From analog processing to guitars, bass, synths, and drums, we can craft the exact sound you’re after.
Stem Mixing/Processing: Stem processing runs your tracks through analog hardware and tape to add richer harmonic texture. Our extensive analog and tube gear enhances your sound with depth, overtones, and cohesion helping you achieve that unmistakable “commercial” or “record” quality.
Analog Tape Processing: Similar to stem mixing and processing, we can run individual tracks, stems, or full stereo mixes to analog tape and back to digital before you send your project to mastering. This adds a level of vibe, saturation, and character that digital tape emulations simply can’t replicate.
